Blue Origin Completes an Historic Reusable Rocket Landing Beating Elon Musk's SpaceX (video)

What may first appear to be a flying dildo is actually an historic leap by Jeff Bezo's New Shepard space vehicle from private space firm Blue Origin. Learn more about this game changing tech into the reusable rocket-race and watch a video of it in action below:

Better known for his role as CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos also owns private space firm Blue Origin... similar to Elon Musk's SpaceX pioneering the way to reusable rockets and space travel. Amazingly, Blue Origin has recently beaten SpaceX by completing a successful launch to a suborbital flight and finished off with a equally successful soft landing. Although SpaceX has performed many launch attempts with reusable rockets, they have never completed a successful landing...

It (Blue Origin) just launched its New Shepard space vehicle consisting of a BE-3 rocket and crew capsule to a suborbital height of around 100.5 kilometers (62 miles). The capsule then separated and touched down beneath a parachute, but more importantly, the BE-3 rocket also started its own descent. After the rockets fired at nearly 5,000 feet, it made a controlled vertical landing at a gentle 4.4 mph.
