The New Samsung Galaxy Gear SmartWatch (6pics&video)

Big news in tech yesterday when Samsung officially announced their new Galaxy Gear paving the way and raising the bar in the smartwatch arena.
Check out more pics and a video demo of the Galaxy Gear below:

Galaxy Gear Smartwatch, a wearable device that features a 1.63-inch 320 x 320 resolution AMOLED touchscreen, built-in speakers, and a 1.9-megapixel camera in the strap. It has an 800MHz processor, 4GB of storage, and 512MB of RAM. It includes a pedometer to measure fitness levels, an accelerometer, and a 315 mAh battery that provides up to one day of regular use.
Samsung’s watch will support voice control with S Voice and is able to make and receive calls and video memos. Designed as a companion for the newly introducedGalaxy Note 3 and new Note 10.1, the Galaxy Gear also notifies wearers of text messages and other updates. It does not function on its own, requiring a Bluetooth 4.0 connection to work.

Apple is expected in releasing their highly-anticipated smartwatch (iWatch) in 2014 with the rumored battery life of 4-5 days (Galaxy Gear is only 1 day)...
Question: Are you on Team-Apple or Team-Samsung...??

This is a cool watch. it's has the both taste of a classy and funky watch you can wear it either on formal occasions or casual night outs

Although this watch looks nice, there is one major factor why it may FAIL.
The new Galaxy Gear does not (as of now) and wasn't advertised as a Health Monitor.
The consumers likely to purchase this watch gadget are the same ones who have purchased a FitBit, Jawbone or Nike FuelBand. These same consumers are looking for a SmartWatch that can not only function as a SmartWatch, but also have the same features 'and more' that their current health tracker offers. After all, why would they want to wear a Galaxy Gear SamrtWatch AND their current health tracker.
Perhaps down the road Apps will be developed to support this. I guess we'll see :)
