Touch-Based SmartPhone Existed in 1992 (video)


When Apple released the iPhone back in 2007, the public went crazy over the futuristic multitouch interface... sans buttons. 
Turns out 20 years back in 1992 IBM and Bellsouth collaborated on a smartphone that functioned entirely with a touch-based interface called the Simon. Although the Simon was way bigger, clunkier and didn't come close to running the Apps like the ones we have in our pockets today... it did share similar functions, such as a calendar, a calculator, fax machine capabilities.... oh, and the ability of making a phone call...
