Audi Gets into the Ski Market Using Carbon Bodies.

I guess it's a popular direction with companies nowadays to delve into a totally different market, such as PlayStation and Facebook moving into the Mobile Phone arena... so why even question the idea of Audi going into the skiing business...?
That's right, the German auto-maker is experimenting with its Audi Carbon Ski concept
Designed and developed at Audi Concept Design in Munich, the downhill skis were created in collaboration with specialists from ski-making company Head, and the German Ski Association. The result is an ultra-lightweight ski that is said to offer premium performance. The skis have a wooden core, surrounded by layers of aluminum and titanium, and a carbon fiber outer shell. The emphasis on carbon and aluminum is said to reflect the company’s design philosophy for its automobiles.
Currently in the prototype phase and recently tested in the World Ski Championships in Garmisch-Partenkerchen, consumers will finally have a chance to purchase and try them out by next winter... Whaaahooo!
