|The evolution of the Starbucks logo since the beginning in 1971.|
....actually the new Logo was just publicly released yesterday and won't be implemented in the coffee shops until later this year. For their 40th anniversary, the Seattle-based coffee giant ditched the text on current logo and just kept the green graphic of the siren (mermaid). Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz stated:
"This new evolution of the logo does two things, that are very important. It embraces and respects our heritage and at the same time it evolves us to a point what we feel it's more suitable for the future."What is this future you ask? ...although they still intend to be the top seller of coffee, Starbucks has provided and will continue services and products that go beyond coffee, such as teas, pastries, music/CDs, coffee mugs, memorabilia....
