This is What 10 Million Facebook Friends Looks Like.

Seems that Paul the intern at Facebook has been busy....
He recently took a sample from the database of 10 million friends and plotted out their location and relationship with each other. The image that came out of it is beautiful to say the least. It is also impressive to see how Facebook is dominating the world...
After a few minutes of rendering, the new plot appeared, and I was a bit taken aback by what I saw. The blob had turned into a surprisingly detailed map of the world. Not only were continents visible, certain international borders were apparent as well. What really struck me, though, was knowing that the lines didn't represent coasts or rivers or political borders, but real human relationships. Each line might represent a friendship made while travelling, a family member abroad, or an old college friend pulled away by the various forces of life.
...pretty impressive, huh? Keep in mind that the image was done with only 10 million users, imagine what it would look like with all 500 million individual users. I wonder if I'm one of these blue lights. hhhmmmmm.....
....Thanks Paul, I guess we'll keep you around a bit longer.

haha.
If the image was in Red, I'm sure the 'feeling' would seem like more of an 'evil' domination. lol
Great work. Love the rendering!
