NASA Successfully Launches NanoSail-D Solar Sail.

From top NASA researchers and popular sci-fi films, the concept of Solar Sails have been all talk and no deliver for years... until last Friday. Not only was a solar sail successfully launched into space, it was [for the first time] launched from a microsatellite dubbed FASTSAT.
Aside from giving NASA the ability to test out the effectiveness of using a solar sail in orbit, this also proves that FASTSAT is a "cost-effective independent means of placing cubesat payloads into orbit safely"
Pretty amazing to see another sci-fi vision turn reality... now where is my Warp Drive...?
