The Modern Dutch Thatched House. (5pics)

Dutch architect Arjen Reas combined the architecture of the past with a modern day contemporary twist! Located in the Netherlands, the exterior walls and roof are covered in a classic yet durable thatch creating the perfect thermal shell. White contemporary architectural forms made up of stone covered with white lime plaster dress up the facade. Bringing in natural light isn't a problem either with its large vertical windows and the large sliding glass facade doors on the back of the house.

Dutch architect Arjen Reas also borrowed a classic profile from old farm house and incorporated lime finishes, which have been used in the area for generations past. The home also lives up to very modern standards of efficiency, creating a healthy interior environment.
