Doctors perform first heart surgery with remote controlled robots

Doctors in a Britain hospital have successfully accomplished the first heart surgery with remote controlled robotic arms. Dr. Andre Ng performed the operation. Although he performed the operation remotely in the next room, this opens up a future of remote surgeries. One can have an operation in Chicago by a team of doctors around the world at the same time...!
“I think it would certainly be possible in future to do this from another city, or further away — all that’s required is a reliable link between your remote controller, where the operator is, and the robotic arm, where the patient is,” Dr. Ng said
